Aggie Traditions
First Yell was started by the Yell Leaders in 1999 as a way of welcoming all Aggies, current and former students, back to campus to begin a new school year. First Yell occurs on the weekend of the first home football game and includes several different events.

November 2008 Program
Hey Aggie Moms- Are You Ready for Some Football???
(or Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, etc?)

ImageIf so- bring your spouse or student to the November 11th meeting of the Northwest Harris County Aggie Moms Club. We will satisfy our hunger for food, fun, and fellowship as we enjoy a snack supper of tailgate favorites such as chili and tortilla soup with all the fixin’s before the meeting.

Join us at 7:00 p.m. at the Houston Distributing Company located at the corner of 7100 High Life Drive and Cutten Road, just south of 1960.

Bill Byrne, Athletic Director at Texas A&M University, will be our featured speaker for the evening. Bill was named director in December of 2003 and, as one of his first acts, he set out to define the mission of the athletics program: Building Champions.

Since his arrival in Aggieland, A&M has earned four national championships and 23 Big 12 Conference titles with promises of more to come. Byrne’s passion for sports, his unwavering work ethic, and his relentless pursuit of excellence are some of his professional trademarks that have infused the athletic department with a new vision for the future.

Under Bill’s leadership, a comprehensive plan for creating new facilities, improving existing facilities, and streamlining operations across the entire 21-sport spectrum, both internal and external, was launched. The face of Aggie athletics has received attention aimed at enhancing recruiting, competition, customer service, marketing, brand imaging, proactive public relations, and every other phase of building champions.

Bill will share “inside information” about our new football coach and his goals and strategies for the season as well as plans for all other sports at Texas A&M this year. Come learn about the commitment to excellence and other qualities our athletes and staff possess that keep our Aggies so competitive and successful!
